Finnebassen is Finn Perder Wang, a producer based in Oslo, Norway, and this remix/edit/cover or whatever you wanna call it, is amazing. Finnebasen has turned Ginuwine’s cover of Prince’s classic hit When Doves Cry into an epic deep house stomper that ticks off all the boxes on the check list of all the current trends. So laid back – yet so danceable. Truly an amazing effort. This is the first time I’m writing about Finnebassen here on the blog, but if he continues to produce material as good as this it definitely wont be the last time.

But already February 6th he’s set to release the first single, called ‘The Hope’, but better yet, the B-side to that one is shared for free today already! Etta James sadly passed away last week, and since that New Zealander Lucky Paul decided to do a very sweet bootleg of one of her hits ‘Rather Go Blind’ (from ’68). It’s a sweet rework, containing most of the songs original structure, mostly adding some new synthesizers, some extra percussions and a harmonic reverb. Enjoy!
